PC Mr Sun PeppyPC MR SUN PEPPY, "Sunny", was a deep golden palomino that stood 15 hands and was a proven son of the Cowan Brothers legendary SUN FROST. Sun Frost is quickly becoming one of the hottest sires, and grandsires, of barrel and arena horses today. Sun Frost's offspring to date have won over 2 million dollars in just about every aspect of performance.  When you look at the Sun Frost line, versatility is definitely what comes to mind.

PC MR SUN PEPPY amassed over $10,000. in barrel winnings in just one season. We ran Sunny in 2001 barrel futurities and with limited training he was a 2-time barrel Futurity Champion,  won the prestigious Fizz Bomb Super Horse Award, and placed in nearly every event he competed in.  "Sunny" was also ridden on the ranch, he had great speed,  would really watch a cow, and had a tremendous amount of heart.

As a sire, "Sunny" Stamps his colts with a big hip, heavy muscle,  and the ability that has them excelling on the ranch and in the arena. They are winning in a variety of events including barrels, roping, halter; and they make good tough saddle horses as well.  As performers, "Sunny" colts are super quick athletes they have a lot of turn, and they have a real low to the ground kind of running style.  We continue to get a lot of repeat buyers on the "Sunny" offspring and very seldom do we see these colts being turned over, which gives us confidence in our breeding program.

"Sunny's" colts are eligible for the Barrel Breeders Incentive, 5 State Barrel Futurity, and the Valley Girls Barrel Futurity.

Paddys Shota MeradaPaddys Shota Merada, "Paddy," was purchased as a weanling at the John Scott Dispersion Sale in 2000. We were instantly attracted to his outstanding conformation and physical presence. We were looking for a stallion prospect that had winners throughout his pedigree, but was also versatile enough to perform in any aspect of the performance world. "Paddy" Is an NCHA money-earner, has his NCHA Certificate of Ability and is an aged event winner with limited showing.  In 2004 he was one of only two horses to make it to the finals in both the Open and Non-Pro Derby at the Canadian Supreme.  He was the MCHA Open Derby Champion, SSCHA Winter Series Open Champion, and has won or placed in nearly every event he has entered.

The Paddys Shota Merada colts are versatile all-around horses and we have never had a bad report on one in five foal crops.  We are riding quite a few at the ranch and I can't say enough about them. They have a lot of cow, they are quick, athletic and yet they are really easy to start; as they just give you "what you want" kind of attitude. For several years we have bred  "Paddy" to our good daughters of Justaswinging Peppy, Travalena, Jewel Dun It, Royal Quick Dash,  Cat Silver, and others.

The "Paddys" are performers as well;  they are doing well in Reining and Team Penning. One of his colts, Paddys Shota Spark (pictured below) won the Montana Reined Cowhorse Stallion Stakes Futurity in 2009.  Look for them again at some major Reining and Reined Cowhorse events in 2010.

Paddy's colts are eligible for the Montana Reined Cowhorse and the Canadian Supreme as they become of age.

Congratulations to the new owners of Paddys shota Merada, Bob & Karen Meyer of Glad Valley, South Dakota.

Perks Status Symbol joined our stallion battery in March, 2008.  He is 15-3 with a wonderful temperament, great attitude and should have speed to burn. We think he will be a great outcross on our current broodmare band and daughters of our other stallions. He is a son of Leading Sire, Dash For Perks by  Dash For Cash, and out of a  AAA daughter of  Mr Eye Opener SI-106 G1 SW ($202,978.) by Dash For Cash. His dam and 2nd dam are both AAA mares with exceptional speed and performance pedigrees. Highlights of his breeding are offered below.

This 2004 stallion is already a Barrel money-earner and we rode him on the ranch as well. We gathered and moved cows with him and and he is probably one of the best minded stallions we have ever been around.

2011 is "Perk's" 3rd foal crop and we are extremely  with the way they look and handle. They are really smart, athletic and have real calm dispositions,  which we were really looking for in colts that have a little more speed bred into them.  Perks is crossing really well on our PC Mr Sun Peppy and Paddys Shota Merada daughters as well.  We will be riding the first  two-year-olds by Perks this winter, so we are excited to see how they break out.

Perks foals are eligible for the Valley Girls, BBI and 5 State Barrel Futurities.

RIP 7/29/2014
